Traveling by train has the best value for money

Nowadays, many people choose to travel by train if they need to travel inside the same country or just for a few days getaway and the reason is simple: thanks to the many offers and last minute deals it is very easy to save money on a train ticket.
Almost all European railway companies offer high-speed trains connections, allowing you to travel long distances in a few hours in total comfort: for example, a high-speed Frecciarossa or Italo train from Rome to Venice takes less than 4 hours. However, tickets can be pricey so choosing the right time to make your purchase and learning all the discounts available is very useful.
Also keep in mind that if you have to travel shorter distances, regional trains are a very good option: they are not as fast and as comfortable as high-speed trains, but they are way cheaper and will make you save a lot of money. Also, the network of regionals trains is more extended than the high-speed trains one. If you wish to visit the Cinque Terre, you will travel on a regional train and it will take just a few minutes to travel from Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza.
